State notes

CTP gets long-term care data directly from the New Mexico state health department via email. In this email, New Mexico reports long-term care data for Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, DDWF and Behavioral Health Facilities. CTP puts DDWF and Behavioral Health Facilities data in the Lumped or Other category in our dataset. New Mexico reports cumulative and, since February 4, 2021, outbreak data. New Mexico also provides facility-level data. New Mexico reports staff cases, resident cases and resident deaths, but does not report staff deaths.

New Mexico provides cumulative totals for resident and staff cases, resident deaths and number of facilities with a case.

Since February 4, New Mexico has provided outbreak data for resident and staff cases, resident deaths and number of facilities with a case. New Mexico defines an outbreak as a facility with 1 case. An outbreak ends when 28 days have passed with no new confirmed cases.

New Mexico provides facility-level data, including facility type, for all facilities that currently have a case.

The state provides facility-level cumulative data. The state provides facility-level outbreak data. Cumulative facility-level data was first reported by the state on 2020-05-21. Outbreak facility-level data was first reported by the state on 2021-02-04.

Because each state reports facility-level data differently, CTP has produced a number of scripts to make the dataset as standardized and comprehensive as possible. This state uses the following scripts: post_processing, standardize_data, close_outbreaks. More information on each of these scripts can be found in our Airtable Facility Script Annotations.
