North Carolina reports facility-level data.
North Carolina reports cumulative and current outbreak data. Data on residents and staff are reported separately. Data is updated twice a week: Tuesdays and Fridays.
North Carolina defines an outbreak as two or more laboratory-confirmed cases. An outbreak is considered over after 28 days without evidence of transmission. Once an outbreak ends, another outbreak can occur at the same facility. North Carolina does not report data for facilities with less than 10 residents.

September 3, 2020: Cumulative residential care facility count in Assisted Living dropped by 4.
October 8, 2020: Cumulative facility totals in the Other category dropped from 97 to 95. Cumulative facility total in Nursing Homes dropped from 235 to 219.
October 22, 2020: Cumulative Nursing Home facilities count decreased by 5.
October 29, 2020: Cumulative facility total decreased for Nursing Homes.
November 19, 2020: Cumulative nursing home staff deaths decreased by 2.
February 11, 2021: Other number of facilities decreased by 12. Nursing home resident positives decreased by 6.
February 18, 2021: Nursing Home Cumulative facilities impacted dropped from 358 to 347 and "Other" Cumulative facilities impacted dropped from 334 to 316.
